Summer is just around the corner and many people are getting their swimsuits and barbecue grills ready. But we know that pool parties and trips to the beach aren’t for everyone. If sitting in front of the screen with a controller in your hands and an energy drink on the table next to you is your paradise, then you have one heck of a summer ahead of you.
This summer is sure to be full of excitement as the hottest video games are expected to hit the shelves. If you want to spend your summer enthralled in exhilarating car chases, game-winning performances and frigid adventures colonizing a planet, this is your year.
Here are just five of the hottest video games being released this summer:
NCAA Football 14
NCAA Football has been a staple for people who enjoy football games. As of recent, it seems as if Electronic Arts (EA) has done well by being able to create the spectacle and pageantry that comes along with college football. Number 14 promises to be much more than a roster update – something that many people stated last year. The graphics look better, the Franchise Mode is streamlined, and they even added a new physics engine that was implemented in last year’s Madden.
It’ll be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on July 9.
Madden NFL 25
The 25th anniversary of Madden is definitely something to write home about. While NCAA Football has been considered to be one of the better games by purists the last couple of years, 25 seems to be trying to take the throne. Of course, it’s always sold more units than its younger brother, but this year may even increase the gap. A lot of that can be attributed to the new features, including Owner Mode and EA Sport’s new Ignite physics engine.
You can pick up your copy of Madden on August 27 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Lost Planet 3
This third-person shooter game, which was developed by Spark Unlimited and published by Capcom, takes place before the action of the first game and second game. It’s a rather large departure from the other games, as E.D.N. III is still going through its ice age. While a pretty ambitious premise, it still comes packed with the action that fans have come to love.
Lost Planet 3 will be released on August 27 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Grand Theft Auto V
There may be no game more anticipated this summer than Grand Theft Auto V. For years now, Rockstar has been developing some of the most innovative games ever seen. Of course, all of them pale in comparison to their cash-cow – Grand Theft Auto. Whether you’re a person who wants to create mayhem throughout Vinewood or explore Los Santos, Grand Theft Auto V will have much more than what you’re bargained for.
If you want a part of gaming history, you can pick up Grand Theft Auto V on September 17. It’s available on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
While Madden is a king of sports titles in the United States, the same can’t be said about the world. The FIFA video game franchise has been a titan, and this year’s edition is no exception. One of the most anticipated features is FIFA Ultimate Team, a popular game mode that reflects the best recent real-world performances of the world’s best players. Another new feature A new feature is Pure Shot, a brand-new ball physics system that makes every shot attempt feel real
The latest edition of FIFA will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 24.
