Hot Tech Items for Black Friday 2013
The turkeys haven’t even been stuffed yet, but the race is already on for the holiday season. Holiday decorations line the store aisles, radio stations have already begun playing seasonal music and everyone is putting together their wish list.
For the extreme bargain hunters though, it’s not Thanksgiving, Christmas or Chanukah that they’re most excited about – it’s November 29th: Black Friday. For years, the day after Thanksgiving has been known as one of the hottest shopping days of the year, particularly for appliances and electronics.
Here’s a look at some of the best consumer electronic winners for his year’s shopping frenzy.
iPhone 5c and 5s
The iPhone 5c and 5s may have been released in October, but savvy consumers practiced patience knowing that these staples would be available at great rates on Black Friday. These phones will certainly be hard to get a hold of, but with prices expected to drop as low as $49.99 for the 5c and $199 for the 5s, it may be worth getting up early for.
One of the most popular purchases during the Black Friday madness is often televisions. This year, expect to see HDTVs going for great rates at nearly all retailers that carry them, including Target, Best Buy and Amazon. In fact, Best Buy is already advertising the LG 55″ 1080p 120Hz HDTV for $499, regularly priced at $1000 or more. In addition, Amazon has stated they will be offering HDTVs at prices 30 percent off or lower.
Kindle Fire HDX 7
The newest addition to the Kindle Fire family, the HDX 7, may just be the most wanted tablet this holiday season, boasting the fastest processor on a 7” tablet, 24-hour tech support and a 1920 x 1200 display. It is regularly priced at $229, but with such a high demand, you can expect to see prices drop for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The Fire HDX 7 isn’t without competition however, items like Apple’s iPad Air and Windows Surface Pro 2, which operates as a tablet and a laptop, are both going to be popular gift items this season. Target has announced that the iPad Air will be available for $20 under retail price and will come with a $100 Target gift card.
Digital cameras are always a popular gift item and as the technology on them grows, so too does the demand. Several retailers are offering deals on the latest camera models, including Radio Shack which is offering the Canon EOS Rebel T3 Digital SLR Camera, regularly priced at $599.99 for $399.99. Target is also expected to drop prices for the Nikon Coolpix L310 to as low as $99.
These days we take our music with us just about everywhere, so high-quality headphones that not only deliver clear sound but also cancel out background noise are becoming a hot commodity. Many stores have already begun to announce deals on models like the Bose Quiet Comfort, Beats by Dre and Sennheiser IE 6 Ear-Canal Headphones, which are going for a cool $79.99 on newegg.com (more than $150 off retail price).
So get out there this Black Friday and snatch up those red-hot technology deals. What consumer electronics are you hoping to buy this year?
