Looking Ahead: What Will Be the Hot Technology Products of 2014?
A New Year means new technology and though many consumers are still trying to figure out the gadgets they received over the holiday season, others are already looking forward to the new tech products that will hit the market in 2014.
If the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that just wrapped up in Las Vegas is any indication, we’ll soon be using and wearing our technology. Here is a closer look at what some of the most coveted tech products will be this year.
The Smart Watch
This product made its debut in 2013 with examples like Pebble, but it will really hit its stride in 2014 when more products and improvements on current products hit the market. The Martian Notifier takes all of the cool tech features these watches typically offer, and combines it with a sleek, stylish design. The Martian Notifier gives users access to all phone alerts and supports voice commands. It also has customizable alerts so users can tell what type of notification you’re getting, without even glancing at your wrist.
Sure to be a hit amongst gamers, the PlayStation Now takes the waiting out of gaming. The game streaming service allows users to play games on PS3, PS4, PS Vita and other devices, without downloading. It gives instant access to the most popular games and allows users to “test drive” before making a purchase.
A lot is said about online security, especially when it comes to giving out banking information and other personal data. Myris lets you keep your accounts safe, without having to remember dozens of passwords. This product uses bio-metric technology to verify a person’s identity. It uses video of your iris to verify your identity and since no two irises are alike, the chance of someone impersonating you and gaining access to your accounts is less than one in two trillion. This technology may just put internet snooping to rest. Though the product is not yet on sale, you can visit their website to reserve the product when it is released.
Pedometers and activity trackers sprinted onto the market in 2013 and are expected to grow in popularity this year. The JayBird Reign has a stylish design and takes the idea of step tracking one step further by offering recommendations for a healthier lifestyle. The wrist accessory logs movement and displays stats such as calories burned, but also tracks historical data to help you make positive changes. For example, it can suggest when you need sleep or give workout suggestions based on earlier activity. The product is also waterproof so it can stay with you through all your activities. Reign is expected to be released in spring 2014, just in time for the summer fitness.
Mophie Space Pack
The Mophie Space Pack is the ultimate iPhone case for 2014. The compact case does more than just protect the phone; it actually provides more 32GB of extra storage, which translates to 16,000 photos and more than 9,000 songs. Users can manage all of their files from the Space Pack app, or from a computer. What’s more, the pack also serves as a battery charger. Space Pack is available for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S and will be on shelves in March 2014.
