The Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2016

 new year means new games and this year gamers have a lot to look forward to. This year we’ll see the return of some old favorites and the addition of some exciting new game changers (pun intended). In no particular order, here’s our top ten most anticipated games of 2016.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is the final story in the Nathan Drake collection. Set three years after the third installment of the Uncharted series, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes players around the world as they lead Nathan Drake in his search for long-lost pirate treasure. Exclusively for PS4 and scheduled release April 26th, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is sure to be a triumphant swansong for Nathan Drake.

The Legend of Zelda

Many fans of The Legend of Zelda were disappointed last year when the much anticipated addition to the franchise didn’t make the 2015 release date. This year we’ve been promised a new Legend of Zelda game with HD graphics and a larger open world than any Zelda game before it. In a departure from previous Zelda games, players will be able complete dungeons in any order they want. Although the release date is still to be determined, but due out sometime in 2016, the latest in in the Zelda saga will be released exclusively for the Wii U.

Far Cry Primal

Set during the Stone Age, Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal follows a hunter named Takkar, the last survivor of his hunting group, as he tames prehistoric beasts, fends off sabertooth tigers, and defeats enemy tribes to become the Apex Predator. Far Cry Primal releases February 23rd for PS4 and Xbox One and March 1st for PC.

Final Fantasy XV

The latest in the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy XV is the story of Prince Noctis and the challenges he faces as the crown city is taken over by the imperial army. The latest in the Final Fantasy series gives players the option to choose their battles by allowing them to run from their enemies and avoid combat. Final Fantasy XV has been confirmed for a 2016 release for PS4 and Xbox One.

Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V is sure to be an exciting addition to the beloved Street Fighter franchise. Street Fighter V will introduce new characters and boast new mechanics. There may even by some story elements to the game. Available for PS4 and PC, Street Fighter V is set for release on February 23rd.

Quantum Break

Quantum Break is an exciting adventure of Jack Joyce who must master his new powers of manipulating time to save the world. Quantum Break is exclusively for Xbox One and is set for release on April 5th.

The Last Guardian

Long awaited, The Last Guardian is finally set for a 2016 release, though the date is still to be determined. The Last Guardian is the story of a young boy and the bond he shares with a gigantic, feathered, doglike creature, as they conquer obstacles and escape fantastical dangers and will be available for PS4.

Tom Clancy’s The Division

Tom Clancy’s The Division is an open world, multiplayer online shooter in which players work to restore a post-apocalyptic Manhattan. Look for Tom Clancy’s The Division on March 8th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

Still in production, the details of Mass Effect: Andromeda are under wraps but we do know the latest story will follow new characters as they explore Andromeda and reveal its secrets. Mass Effect: Andromeda is set for a December 2016 release and will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Firewatch

Released February 9th for PS4, PC, Mac, and Linux, Firewatch is a first-person adventure game which takes place in the Wyoming wilderness. Players lead a volunteer fire lookout, Henry, as he untangles the mysterious disappearance of two women, while also building, or breaking, his relationship with his supervisor, Delilah.

2016 is sure to be a big year for new game releases. So which games are you most looking forward to?
