What to Expect on Black Friday 2015
Thanksgiving and Black Friday go hand-in-hand, so as we pause to express gratitude for the bounty of life, we’re eagerly awaiting the door buster deals and rock-bottom prices that the holiday brings. Tech is one of the biggest markets for Black Friday sales, and this year we can expect excellent pricing across the board. Some stores are already boasting pre-sales, which means you can start enjoying your new gadgets now; but the best deals are still to be had on Black Friday. Here’s a look at what tech to expect on Black Friday 2015.
Televisions seem to be moving in one direction: bigger, better, and cheaper. This year, you’ll be able to snag oversized screens with crystal-clear high-definition images. Everything from brand name TVs to smart TVs and LED screens are on sale, and the prices are incredible. TV prices are dropping each year, and this year is no exception, so if you’re in the market for a new set, this is the time to buy.
Tablets and tablet-laptop hybrids are still ubiquitous, and there are even more options than ever. Galaxy tablets, Samsung Pro, iPad Air, and Amazon Fire tablets will all be discounted on Black Friday, so look for these deals either in store or online to catch the latest tablet at an all-time-low price.
Xbox One and PS4 consoles are still hot, so you’ll find excellent prices on the latest models all over. Many big-box retailers are pricing gaming devices attractively to get you in the store, so be on the lookout for these door buster deals.
Last year it was all about the latest smartphone, and this year, wearables have taken over. Retailers know that customers are intrigued by wearables, but the prices can be prohibitive, so Black Friday is the perfect time to entice new purchases with tempting deals. Even the year’s hottest smart watch, Apple Watch, is subject to Black Friday pricing—look for stores that are offering store credits and other bonus deals with purchase. You’ll also find great prices on fitness trackers from FitBit and Moov, and action cameras like GoPro.
As usual, the Black Friday tech deals that get the major buzz are the big ticket items, but all those little tech extras, like USBs, memory cards, power strips, keyboards, and earphones are often 50 percent off or more. This year’s list of extras includes wireless headphones, portable chargers, drop cams, and streaming players.
Don’t discount the value of bonus deals in the form of gift cards with purchase, extra rewards on store cards, and free swag. Some retailers use these promotions to knock down prices even further on popular electronics, particularly for high-end tech, like Apple products. Others give away complementary products to pair with your new purchase, like accessories and gaming bundles, making the total cost a lot more reasonable for what you’re getting.
So if you’re in the market for the hottest tech devices of the year, Black Friday is the perfect time to snatch up one of these devices.
